Bayern Munich coach Louis Van Gaal would like to take the maximum three points away from his side’s upcoming Champions League fixture on Wednesday night, as he has taken some time out to relive a few past experiences against Juventus.
“I don’t have happy memories connected to Juventus,” the Bayern boss said to Novantesimo.it.
“I lost a final of the Champions League [in 1996] when I was in charge of Ajax.”
The following year, the two teams met once again in the European competition, and the Bianconeri defeated the Dutch side on both occasions.
Van Gaal will be looking to avenge the past, when the Bayern and Juventus meet later tonight. Bayern currently lead Group A, after their 3-0 victory over Maccabi Haifa on the first matchday.
