DeMeco Ryans injured, will be end of season
Houston – Texans middle linebacker DeMeco Ryan will miss the rest of the season after an injury right before halftime of Houston won 35-31 over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

“It is difficult,” said Ryan. “It was heartbreaking to hear the news that you are finished for this season.”
Ryan jumped and fell onto the grass on a goal by the Chiefs. He remained in the cage for several minutes while trainers attended to him.
Coach Gary Kubiak said Ryan will undergo surgery within the next few days to repair the injury.
Ryan, a second round pick in 2006, has had more than 110 in each of the first four deal with the NFL season.
This is a big blow for a defense that was struggling before the injury to the leader. The Texans get a strongside linebacker Brian Cushing returned last week after he served a four-game suspension for violating NFL policy on drugs improve the performance and now must adjust to the loss of Ryan.
Weakside linebacker Zac Diles moved into the middle after Ryan fell Sunday. Bush would prefer to remain at weakside Diles and hope Kevin Bentley will be quite healthy after a bye to take over for Ryan. He has come out with a knee injury.
“Anytime something like that happened, it was a blow for the team,” said Cushing. “This is a blow to morale, but we have to play for now.”
“You really can not replace DeMeco,” Johnson said.
Ryan, in 2006 Defensive Rookie of the Year, finished the season with 54 handles.
